PhD position in bEAR: brain Electrical Auditory Restoration (06/2024)

Hearing loss affects individuals of every age, significantly decreasing their quality of life. In the Laboratory of Translational Auditory research at CHUV, we aim at bringing better solution to hearing impaired people that cannot benefit from available therapies. This project will focus on developing a novel approach to restore hearing using a surface neuroprosthesis that targets the auditory cortex (AC). We will exploit recent developments in the field of soft neural interfaces to implement a high-resolution stimulation device to restore fine sound discrimination.

This creates an opportunity for an interdisciplinary PhD project that will combine innovation in material sciences, engineering and computational sciences applied to neuroscience and clinical needs.
