Haris Efthymiou

I am a PhD student at UNIL since November 2025.
My main research focus is to develop methods and models of meteorological processes, with particular emphasis on precipitation. My goal is to contribute in applications and services such as hydrological risk assesment, early warnings and nowcasting.
At UNIL, I am working primarily on statistical models that reproduce realistic precipitation fields, including methods for downscaling observations and model outputs, as well as for the stochastic generation of precipitation.
