My name is Sydney Fleming, I’m originally from Luxembourg but moved to Lausanne to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biology. During my studies, I discovered a strong interest in bioinformatics and genomics, which led me to continue with a master’s in Molecular Biology, specializing in bioinformatics. For my first internship, I explored the effects of domestication on cis-regulatory regions in tomato. Currently, I am working on my master’s thesis in the Statistical Genetics Group, where I’m developing ground-truth networks from Perturb-seq data to identify robust drug target interactions, under the supervision of Adriaan Van der Graaf.
In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, playing video games, and getting a bit too competitive over board games with friends.
