Kaido Lepik obtained a bachelor’s degree in 2012 in mathematical statistics at the University of Tartu (Estonia). He followed up on it with a master’s degree in 2014 at the same university, focusing also on machine learning and algorithmics. During his MSc studies and for one year after graduation, he worked in industry for a market research company, optimizing work and providing business intelligence solutions. In 2015, he started a PhD program at the University of Tartu as part of a Bioinformatics, Algorithmics and Data Mining research group (BIIT). In February 2017, he joined the Statistical Genetics Group as a visiting PhD student. He is currently working on finding gene expression biomarkers for C-reactive protein.
