On Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, Chiara achieved a significant milestone by successfully defending her PhD thesis titled “Where rare meets common: Leveraging population cohorts to study rare copy-number variants” at her private defense. In her work, Chiara explored the genetic basis of human traits and diseases by studying copy-number variants (CNVs) in large populations. She addressed methodological challenges in researching rare CNVs, uncovering their significant impact and contributing to advancements in personalized medicine.
