Research Interest
The Middle Cambrian (Miaolingian) period was a remarkable time in Earth’s history marked by the famous “Cambrian Explosion” – a period of rapid diversification and evolution of complex life forms. To gain a better understanding of this pivotal period, I am using a multi-proxy approach that involves a range of techniques including cyclostratigraphy, Carbon isotope geochemistry, and biostratigraphy. The combination of these methods will give new insights into the mechanisms and timing of the Cambrian Explosion, and refine our understanding of the Middle Cambrian time scale.
