Research interests

I love developing new approaches to look at the brain’s anatomy and function. Nowadays, I focus on: (i) Ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – including BOLD-fMRI and susceptibility-based modalities such as SWI and QSM and (ii) Electroencephalography (EEG) – including simultaneous EEG-fMRI recordings, as well as compact EEG wearables for long-term daily use.

Short Bio

I studied Biomedical Eng. at the University of Lisbon, and then pursued a PhD in Physics & Biomedical Eng. at the EPFL in Lausanne, in a joint program with the University of Lisbon. After graduation, I continued my research activities as a post-doc in CIBM, EPFL. Currently, I am a research fellow at CSEM, pursuing my research interests as a junior PI funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (Ambizione program).
