Short Bio

Maxence was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1997. He received a Engineering bachelor’s degree at Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) in 2018 with majors in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering. He then proceeded with a Master’s degree in Data Science Engineering at the same university. During his master, he did an internship at the Institute of Neuroscience (IoNS, UCLouvain) where he developed pipelines to help segment lesions in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients. He received his Master’s degree in 2021 with a master’s thesis entitled “Towards the integration of advanced magnetic resonance imaging biomarkers in multiple sclerosis clinical practice”

Since September 2021 he is pursuing a PhD thesis at UCLouvain. His PhD project is aiming at developing MRI-based advanced machine learning techniques for the longitudinal detection and segmentation of Paramagnetic Rim Lesions in MS patients, under the supervision of Prof. Benoît Macq and Dr. Meritxell Bach Cuadra. He is currently a visiting PhD student at MIAL (UNIL) founded by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Scholars.
