The Medical Image Analysis Laboratory (MIAL) is headed by Meritxell Bach Cuadra, PhD, MER, PD. MIAL was born in 2011 and it is a research group jointly between the University of Lausanne (Center for Biomedical Imaging) and the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (Radiology Department).
We believe that an appropriate use of medical imaging requires a multidisciplinary approach. Thus, we develop as much as possible close collaborations with medical doctors and industrial partners, while developing advanced methods for medical image processing. We have several application-oriented projects in the fields of Radiology, Neurology, Neuro-surgery, Oncology and Psychiatry.
