Weibo Rao is a PhD student from China university of Geosciences (Wuhan), jointly trained by GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research (Kiel). His research focuses on developing key technologies for automated identification and intelligent monitoring of microfeature in marine remote sensing. He will spend one year as a visiting PhD student in the RISK Group at the institute of earth sciences, UNIL under the supervision of Prof. Michel Jaboyedoff. During this period, he will focus on Improving algorithms for computer vision and microscopic feature recognition with applications in environmental remote sensing and ocean engineering.
