Hrvoje Lukačić is a PhD student from the Faculty of Mining, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He will stay at the Risk Group of UNIL as a Ph.D. student for the period of two months. His PhD mobility is founded by the Croatian Science Foundation in the scope of Outbound Mobility of Research Assistants (MOBDOK-2023). His supervisors are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martin Krkač and Prof. Dr. Michel Jaboyedoff. During his stay, he will focus on investigating the influence of different mapping techniques on rockfall susceptibility on a detailed scale. The main goals and objectives of his visit will contribute to the area of rockfall susceptibility by defining optimal input models and optimal discontinuity mapping techniques for producing reliable rockfall susceptibility maps. Moreover, developing the open-source MATLAB code will enable the wider application of 3D point clouds and spatial kinematic analysis in rockfall susceptibility assessment and risk management.
