Wei Liu is a Ph.D. student from the China University of mining and technology in Xuzhou, China. He will stay for one year in the Risk Group at UNIL as a visiting Ph.D. student supported by the CSC scholarship (2022.11.20-2023.11.20). His supervisor is Prof. Jaboyedoff. His research project involves the application of the infrared remote sensing method in damage characterization and instability prediction of the rock mass. During his stay at UNIL, he will focus on the numerical simulation of the infrared temperature field evolution of rock mass under thermal-mechanical coupling, and rock instability prediction using Infrared Image deep Learning.
