Events

During the year the ADAS committee organizes several events for its members. Through these activities, we hope to promote exchanges among assistants and PhDs working in different domains of life sciences. Here is a list of our main activities:

D.Day

A one-day symposium for young scientists in life sciences, with invited international researchers.

Welcome of new PhD students

Each semester we welcome the new PhD students that joined our faculty with an apero in downtown Lausanne.

Dinner of the assistants

Dinner organized following the general assembly in autumn. A good opportunity to get to know your fellow PhD’s and assistants of the FBM.

Welcome of candidates for the FBM Fellowship

Each year 12 candidates are invited to participate in the selection for the FBM fellowship. The ADAS welcomes them with a standing dinner to allow exchanges about their future university.

Apero networking – Meet the Dean

A unique activity in which the dean of the university invites all PhD and PostDocs for an Apero and the possibility to discuss various topics of interest.

ADAS Three Minute Thesis (3MT®)

A public speaking competition for all FBM PhD students, where they have to present their thesis in 3 minutes

More information about 3MT® is available here!

Pub Quiz

Each year, ADAS organises a pub quiz taking place at a local bar. All PhDs and Postdocs are welcome to join with their team, or they can make a team on the spot, and answer trivia questions!
