Janbert Aarnink

Janbert Aarnink is a PhD candidate.

He has got a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and a master degree in Hydraulic Engineering. During his master program he studied river and coastal morphodynamics and served as an assistant for a course in Coastal Dynamics. At the end of his master degree in Coastal Engineering, Janbert learned about remote sensing during his thesis where he calculated nearshore bathymetry based on drone data. Thereafter, he moved to Switzerland to work at a startup analyzing drone and satellite data for agriculture.

He is combining his knowledge of Hydraulic Engineering with his experience in remote sensing to create systems that monitor and track wood transport in rivers.
