Gabriele Consoli

Gabriele is a Postdoc researcher in RivEs since March 2023.

Gabriele is a stream ecologist interested in how rivers respond to anthropogenic stressors and environmental changes. He has a mixed background in ecology and geomorphology, and pursued his PhD at EAWAG, investigating the effects of artificial floods on the ecosystems of regulated alpine rivers. His work in the RivEs lab focuses on the ecological function of large wood in rivers, in natural and river restoration contexts. Part of his project will be carried out between Swiss Alps and Argentinian Andes, to investigate the effects of tree-line shifts on montane stream ecosystems.
