Publication: the jasmonate pathway protects Marchantia polymorpha against snail herbivory

This study published in Plant-Environment Interactions is a collaboration with the group of Roberto Solano (CNB Madrid). We showed that a  Marchantia polymorpha mutant in the jasmonate pathway (Mpcoi1) is more susceptible to Helix aspersa herbivory, suggesting that this ancient pathway was already efficient in early land plants against herbivory by gastropods, before the appearance of insects.
