The SNSF-funded project The Language of the Labouring Poor in Late Modern English, which ran from March 2020 to February 2025, has aimed at determining the role of the social stratification variable in language variation and change in the period c. 1795–1834.

While the funded project is officially completed, research related to the project is ongoing.
