Dr. Thibault Estier is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems (DESI) at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne. He earned his PhD in Information Systems from the University of Geneva in 1995. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Estier contributed to the development of Switzerland’s first web-based Content Management System (CMS) in 1997 while working at the internet startup inextenso.com.
Since joining the University of Lausanne in 1999, Dr. Estier has focused his research on the evolution of information systems. He has also collaborated on projects aimed at enhancing programming education, such as the development of Thyone, a collaborative Jupyter Notebook extension designed to support learners’ programming regulation and motivation in online classroom settings.
In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Estier serves as a representative of the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) on the Council of the Interfaculty Platform for Computer Science (P2i) at the University of Lausanne.
