Register now for the symposium “Sharing data in the light of the new data protection law” organized by FORS: The Swiss centre of Expertise in the social science

In September 2023, the new Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) will become effective in Switzerland.

  • Do you have questions on what the new Federal Act on Data Protection implies for your research?
  • Are you unsure about how to share your data and related research materials while respecting the legal requirements?
  • Do you want to know where to share your data and related research materials safely?

If so, then join us on the 12th of September 2023 for a free online symposium on “Sharing data in the light of the new data protection law”, organized by FORS.

This symposium will familiarize researchers with the new law and elaborate on its implications for empirical social science research. Researchers will learn more about SWISSUbase, the platform for data sharing and dissemination, as well as the newly established FORS replication service, which allows researchers to share their replication materials. The final part of the symposium will focus on the deposit of research data and related materials as good practice.

This is a free online event, yet registration is required. You can register here or on the webpage of the symposium. More information can be found on the symposium’s dedicated webpage: https://forscenter.ch/sharing-data-in-the-light-of-the-new-data-protection-law/.
