My main research interests lie in reconstructing the Earths past climate and environment in order to evaluate and improve our ability to forecast the future using Earth system models. This ranges from decadal to glacial-interglacial timescales, and from local site to regional and global spatial scales. My work has primarily been involved in developing large continental-scale reconstructions of past climate and land cover during the Late Quaternary using pollen data .
