Ludovica Romanin is a PhD student at the CHUV-UNIL Translational Magnetic Resonance Research Center since January 2021. She works under the supervision of Dr. Davide Piccini on the development of algorithms for the reconstruction and analysis of cardiac MR images, as part of a collaboration with Siemens Healthineers.

She obtained her MSc degree in Life Sciences engineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

Throughout her studies, she became particularly interested in data analysis tools in the field of biomedical imaging. Consequently, she carried out her MSc thesis in the Medical Image Processing Lab of Prof. Dimitri Van De Ville. Her project focused on brain computational models to investigate functional neuroplasticity in patients born without the corpus callosum, the major nerve tract connecting the right and left brain hemispheres.

In her free time, she likes reading, listening to music, and playing the piano.
