Heidi joined the team in November 2024 as a PhD student under the supervision of Matthias Stuber. Her research explores the limits of spatial and temporal resolution, particularly in the context of low-field cardiac MR imaging.

She graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2021 with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering, spending part of her studies at Queen’s University in Canada. During her degree, she completed an industrial placement at Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology, UK, where she worked on mitigating thermal shield resonance in superconducting magnets used for MRI. This experience sparked her interest in magnetic resonance imaging and signal processing, which she continued to develop during her master’s thesis.

After graduating, she worked as a research assistant at CSIC-INCAR, Spain, focusing on development of carbon capture technologies.

Outside of her PhD, she enjoys judo, photography and being in the mountains. She doesn’t like cake.
