Cyril Tous received two B.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Physics in 2011 and three Masters degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Business and Medical Imaging Research respectively from the Institut Supérieur de l’Électronique et du Numérique in Brest, the Ecole Supérieur de Commerce Business School in Rennes and the Université de Rennes 1, in France in 2014.

He received the Ph.D. Degree in medical imaging from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2019 for investigating congenital heart disease with cardiac diffusion MRI. In 2019, he joined as a postdoc the Centre de Recherche du Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal. His work had been focused on analysing MRI images and programming MR sequences for various projects in cardiac, ENT, prostate, spinal cord, and liver imaging.

His main research project consisted in steering magnetic microparticles across the vascular hepatic tree by using the MRI gradients, a technique also called Magnetic Resonance Navigation (MRN). Since 2022, he is a postdoc at the Center for Biomedical Imaging working on enhancing the temporal and spatial resolution of the 5D free running sequence.
