What is the Alumnil platform?

The platform is the term used to refer to the Alumnil network managing and communication IT system. It is a private and secure “members-only space” that requires login credentials.

This platform contains all the information on our network activities, including events, job offers, the alumni directory, and an internal messaging system.

Have you received your login credentials to the platform? You will find articles, events, photo galleries, our members’ directory, and a section with job offers. You can also optimise your personal profile.

What is the Alumnil alias?

As a member of the Alumnil network, you are automatically given an email-forwarding address (alias) in the following format: firstname.lastname@alumnil.unil.ch.

This address is hosted on the Alumnil platform and forwards messages to your personal or professional email address as specified in your profile. It is assigned to you for life and identifies you as a member of the Alumnil network.

This alias allows people who do not know your private or professional email to get in touch with you. To learn everything about its features, you can read the illustrated article in French “L’alias – ce masque fort pratique” (“The alias – this very handy mask”).

IMPORTANT: Your @unil.ch address becomes invalid 6 months after your deregistration. It is therefore important that you update your profile with a private email address.

I forgot my login credentials for the Alumnil platform.

What should I do?

  • Click on “Espace membre” at the top right of the website (unil.ch/alumnil/);
  • Enter your username (firstname.lastname) or your registered email address;
  • Click on “Forgot login?” below the login box. The system will send you an email with a link to reset your password.

The reset email will be sent to the private email address registered in your profile. If this address is no longer valid, send an email to admin.alumnil@unil.ch to request an update.

How do I update my personal information?

Log in to the platform:

  • To modify your personal details (email, postal address, work experience, education, mobility, etc.), go to: Personal account > My profile
  • Save your changes for each section!
How do I change my password?

Log in to the platform:

  • Go to Personal account > Settings > Settings
  • Main settings > Your access data: Change
  • Don’t forget to save!
How do I change my email address?

Log in to the platform:

  • Go to Personal account > My profile
  • Personal data > Click on ‘Edit’ > Private email
  • Don’t forget to save!
Employment
How do I enable or disable job alerts?

Log in to the platform:

  • Go to Content > Job offers;
  • Select your criteria in the left-hand column ‘Job description’ and start the search;
  • Save your search filter by giving it a name and activating it.

Your search filter will appear above the ‘Job description’ column. You can create multiple search filters and activate or deactivate them at any time. A notification email will be sent to the email address listed in your Alumnil profile when a job offer matching your criteria is published.
