The International Walras Association was established on October 3, 1997 by Prof. Donald Walker. It aims at promoting research on the works of Walras, furthering its diffusion and encouraging communication among scholars active in this field. The founding assembly took place during the conference “the French Economic Tradition (1848-1939)” which was co-organised by the Auguste & Léon Walras Center (University of Lyon) and the Rhône-Alpes Human Sciences Center. This assembly brought together some thirty fouding members, professors and young researchers working on Walras.
