To transmit core skills, promote a common research culture, and facilitate young scholars’ integration into a wider international research network, all doctoral students funded by the project participate in the project’s own international training program. They are enrolled as doctoral students at the University of Lausanne, and are jointly supervised by a Swiss researcher and a researcher based at their respective research site. All doctoral students participate in yearly two-to-three-weeks intensive ad hoc courses, and benefit from additional mentoring support from one international steering group member.
