Pascal is from the town of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Both his BSc and MSc degrees are in Environmental Engineering. In his PhD research, Pascal is using densely spaced ground-penetrating radar surveys to map subglacial channels underneath the temperate Glacier d’Otemma in the Swiss Alps. He is also examining the influence of subglacial channels on the dynamics of the glacier surface. Outside of his PhD, Pascal is a semi-professional trail runner who has won the 2018 Skyrunner World Series and a silver medal at the 2017 World Long-Distance Mountain-Running Championships. He also enjoys mountaineering and fluently speaks 6 different languages.
