Despite remarkable educational gains, migrant women remain segregated in low-wage, precarious occupations and face persistent penalties in pay and career advancement. Based at Centre LIVES, Université de Lausanne (UNIL), PROFEM develops a comprehensive intersectional framework to analyse the mechanisms and driving forces of gender- and migration-based stratification processes across European countries and over time. Combining population-level secondary analyses, targeted employer interviews, survey experiments, and dynamic micro-simulations, PROFEM aims to deepen academic knowledge and provide evidence-based insights for policymakers, employers, and civil society, supporting efforts to reduce labour market inequalities affecting migrant women.
