Disinformation: HEC Lausanne devotes a day to the dual role of AI

The Research Center for Grand Challenges and the Department of Information Systems at HEC Lausanne are holding an interdisciplinary workshop on 24 September 2026 at Villanova, on the UNIL campus, on the dual role of artificial intelligence in disinformation: an engine for producing and spreading false content at scale, it is also increasingly used to detect manipulated media and to speed up fact-checking.

The day combines an opening keynote, two panels bringing together researchers, journalists, policymakers and technology practitioners, a session dedicated to early-career researchers, and a collaborative lab aimed at concrete recommendations. Registration is free. PhD students and post-doctoral researchers may submit a one-page abstract until 19 August 2026.
