Climate Informatics is an open, interdisciplinary community at the intersection of climate science, statistics, machine learning, and data mining. Our goal is to accelerate discovery in climate research by connecting diverse fields and fostering collaboration between data scientists and climate experts. The community provides a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing tools and datasets, and advancing methods that deepen our understanding of the Earth’s climate system.

About the conference
A central activity of the community is the Climate Informatics Conference, held annually since its founding by Claire Monteleoni and Gavin Schmidt. The conference brings together researchers from across disciplines to share advances in data-driven climate science, explore emerging challenges, and spark new collaborations. Through this event and through the broader community, we aim to cultivate innovation, openness, and connection in climate informatics, driving progress toward a deeper understanding of our planet’s changing climate.
