In partnership with a group of researchers from the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT), Stefan Stepanovic and Tobias Mettler conducted a study on unintended side effects of gamification, that will be presented at the 2019 Wirtschaftsinformatik conference in Siegen, Germany. This literature review, entitled “Gamification in Health Behavior Change Support Systems – A Synthesis of Unintended Side Effects” provides a first synthesis of unintended side effects of gamification in organizational settings.
