The Metabolomics team has its own research and development goals
to design, develop and implement new approaches and methodologies for qualitative and quantitative analyses of polar and lipid metabolites including:
multiple pathway targeted approach for highly sensitive and specific measurement of a wide range of known polar and lipid metabolites involved in energy metabolism and metabolic siganling
deep annotation of model organism metabolome (along with lipidome)
stable isotope-assisted tracing experiments to track the fate of labeled substrates (i.e. nutrients) in different conditions (e.g., different genotypes, treatments, etc.)
tissue and cell imaging to acquire the information on spatial distribution of metabolites of interest
to define the framework of human metabolism by applying the validated leading-edge methodologies to human population (epidemiological) and clinical intervention studies to enhance the understanding of metabolic alterations with reproductive ageing (e.g., sex differences)
