Dr.Sc Jenny Gentizon

I am a lecturer (MER2) and scientific collaborator at the Institute for Higher Education and Research in Health at the University of Lausanne. In December 2022, I was promoted to coordinator of the Master’s programme for nurse practitioners.

My research focuses on the prevention of medication-related problems in geriatric patients. Priority areas of my research programme include assessing medication knowledge in geriatric patients in different clinical settings, developing and evaluating interventions to promote adequate medication knowledge skills and prevention of medication-related problems at the time of transition of care (e.g., discharge from hospital), promoting patients’ active participation in medication self-management and supporting adequate nursing skills in pharmaceutical care.

I have extensive experience in hospital nursing, gerontology, and discharge preparation, as well as specific training in PROM development, psychometric assessment, complex interventions, qualitative research, and systematic reviews.

I am aware of the importance of public and patient involvement and interprofessional collaboration in research-related activities. I have successfully collaborated with patient partners and researchers with medical and pharmaceutical backgrounds, resulting in peer-reviewed publications.
