The INTERART project brings together Geneva’s MAH, the University of Oxford, Idiap, and UNIL’s School of Criminal Justice to apply heterogeneous facial recognition to 18th-century artworks, including a Liotard drawing believed to depict a young Marie-Antoinette. By combining biometrics, forensic science, and art history, the project explores how AI can refine portrait attributions while preserving human expertise.
