Disaster-Resilient Societies (HORIZON) calls

Cluster 3, “Civil Security”, supports the implementation of EU policy priorities relating to security, including cybersecurity, infrastructure protection and disaster risk reduction. In addition, it builds on lessons learnt from the COVID 19 crisis, both in terms of preparedness and capacity building.
Call/Topic fomr “Disaster-Resilient Societies”: This Destination supports the implementation of international policy frameworks (e.g. the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Paris Agreement, Sustainable Development Goals), EU disaster risk management policies tackling natural and man-made threats (either accidental or intentional), European Green Deal priorities including the new EU Climate Adaptation Strategy COM(2021) final., as well as the Security Union Strategy and the Counter-Terrorism Agenda.

As a non-EU country, Switzerland has to negotiate the association to Horizon Europe. Currently, Switzerland has the status of a third country. For collaborative research projects (RIAs and IAs) open to third country participation, Swiss entities can participate as associated partners from a third country. If these are successfully evaluated, the participant from Switzerland will receive funding from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation.
