MOPGA: Visiting Fellowship for Young Researchers in France

France’s Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (MESRI) in collaboration with Campus France, have implemented a visiting fellowships program for young researcher, Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA), to welcome young foreign researchers wishing to conduct further research in France.

Non-French national researchers holding a doctoral degree for less than 5 years (i.e. PhD defense between December 2017 and December 2023) can respond to this call for proposals.

40 fellowships will be awarded over a 12-month period from September 2023.

 Five broad research themes are prioritized:

• Earth systems,
• Climate change and sustainability,
• Energy transition,
• Societal challenges of environmental issues,
• Human, animal and ecosystem health as part as a “One Health” approach.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:

• Possess a doctoral degree awarded within the past five years.
• Have not resided in France since 1 September 2022.
• Are not French nationals.
