Creativity, Feminism and Freedom of Expression
Reine Dibussi est Autrice-Illustratrice 2D, Scénariste de Bande Dessinée et depuis 2021 Cofondatrice d’AFIRI Studio, studio graphique et maison d’édition. En 2017, elle crée la série de Bande Dessinée jeunesse de science-fiction MULATAKO dont le 2e tome est sorti en 2022. Elle a à cœur la représentation des personnes noires et afro, le féminisme et contribue à l’élaboration d’une littérature illustrée plus diversifiée.
Elle présentera sa trilogie de bandes dessinées MULATAKO , un récit afrofuturiste sur le monde des esprits de l’eau dans un Anthropocène futuriste. Avec sa co-autrice Carine Bahanag, elle a créé une jeune héroïne esprit de l’eau qui s’efforce avec esprit et témérité de résister à la domination masculine et à un virus qui détruit l’esprit et le monde humain. Avec ce récit, adapté à un jeune lectorat, les autrices participent à la lutte des bédéistes féministes contre l’hégémonie masculine dans le monde actuel de la bande dessinée et au-delà.
Programme
1) Drawing female comic characters
2) Presentation of the comic series Mulatako and its female characters: A work on the representation of black women: complexion, body, age, disability, roles in society.
3) Presentation of her work and recurring subjects. Brief presentation of her online comic book "Souffles coupés", women in the public space
4) Q&A du public et des scientifiques.

ERC Artivism
This workshop is part of the broader activities related to the ERC project ERC ARTIVISM. Art and Activitism. Creativity and Performance as Creative means of Expression in Super-Diverse Cities lead by Prof. Monika Salzbrunn, namely the final conference Artivism and Creative Resistances: New Research Methods and New Alliances between Art and Activism (12.-14.4.22). The ERC ARTIVISM Project (www.erc-artivism.ch) has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) within the framework of the European Union’s research and innovation programme “Horizon 2020” (ARTIVISM - grant agreement No. 681880). Dr. Raphaela von Weichs is senior researcher and Federica Moretti and Sara Wiederkehr are PhD students within the project.
