Remise des prix de la FBM 2021

The questions of how much abiotic environment contributes to explain species distributions, and which abiotic factors are the most influential, are key when projecting species realized niches in space and time. In a new paper, D. Scherrer and A. Guisan show that answers to these questions can be obtained by using species’ ecological indicator values (EIVs)

New paper on ‘standards for distribution models in biodiversity assessments’
The paper proposes a set of best-practice standards and detailed guidelines enabling scoring of studies based on species distribution models for use in biodiversity assessments. It should promote transparency and repeatability, eventually leading to higher quality of SDMs and the inferences used in assessments.
