Visa and travel information

For citizens of the European Union and those from countries that are signatories to the Schengen Agreement, entering Switzerland is straightforward: a valid passport or national identity card is sufficient for stays of up to 90 days.

Nationals of countries outside the European Union may be required to obtain a visa to enter Switzerland, depending on their nationality. Holders of passports from countries outside the Schengen Area are advised to ensure that their passport remains valid for at least three months after their planned date of departure from Switzerland and the Schengen Area.

To find out whether you need a visa to enter Switzerland, please visit the official Swiss visa portal or the Schengen visa information portal. These websites will guide you through the process based on your nationality, country of residence and the planned duration of your stay.
