Prof. Zavolokina recently took part in a panel discussion on “AI in Life Sciences: Hype, Hope, and Responsibilities” at the University of Geneva’s MIMOL Department Retreat 2026 in Les Pensières.
Together with Pr. Evgeny Zdobnov (UNIGE), Pr. Frédéric Erard (UNIL) and following the moderation of Dr. Mathieu Hubert (UNIGE), they discussed how AI is already transforming scientific practice, where it could genuinely expand the boundaries of discovery, and the responsibilities that come with adopting these tools so quickly.
A stimulating conversation—and a useful reminder that the future of AI in science will depend not only on what the technology can do, but also on how thoughtfully we choose to use it.
