Johanna is from Marienmünster-Vörden, a small village in central Germany. She did her Bachelor’s studies in Geophysics at the University of Cologne (Germany), and completed the IDEA League Joint Master’s Programme in Applied Geophysics at ETH Zurich, Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands), and RWTH Aachen University (Germany). Johanna is working on the development of novel processing techniques for high-resolution 3D and 4D GPR data in order to learn about the distribution and dynamics of englacial and subglacial channels. Outside of her PhD, she enjoys spending time in the mountains, and she is passionate about environmentalism.
