Silvia Staubli is a lecturer and researcher in the fields of criminology and sociology of crime, dealing with topics such as social control, deviant behaviour, punitiveness and victimisation. In her doctoral thesis, she analysed the population’s trust in the police in Switzerland and Europe. She is a lecturer at the University of Fribourg, Division of Sociology, Social Work and Social Policy and is currently collaborating on a study on homicide in the domestic environment at the Competence Centre for Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of St. Gallen.
