Daniel Fink is a lecturer in crime statistics and crime policy at the University of Lucerne and an associate member of the Ecole des sciences criminelles at the University of Lausanne. He is also a member of the UN Sub-Committee on the Prevention of Torture. After having published extensively on prisons and penal systems in Switzerland for more than 10 years, his research interests today shift towards the field of justice and the police. He is a member of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) – Swiss research group and most recently participated in a statistical study of the number of police officers and private security service providers in Switzerland.
