Elodie Schils is a researcher at the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology (NICC) in Brussels (Belgium). Psychologist by training, she has started working in the field of research in 2019 on a project evaluating a care model for drug-using detainees (collaboration between the Ghent University and the NICC). Since 2020, she has been involved in several research projects dealing with municipal administrative sanctions. The most recent project is entitled “Municipal administrative sanctions as part of anti-Covid measures: administration of criminal justice and respect for fundamental rights” (prom. Alexia Jonckheere, NICC) and was carried out in collaboration with the University of Saint-Louis (Brussels, Belgium) in the persons of Christine Guillain and Diletta Tatti.
