Plant communities are the center of the team’s researches. They are considered with different perspectives:
- Plant communities are changing in time (projects Forest dynamics in Grande Cariçaie, Permanent plots, Understorey dynamics in a forest reserve and GLORIA)
- Plant communities are indicators of ecological conditions or in relation to soil structure and processes (see former research projects)
- Plant communities can be described and classified in order to develop vegetation maps (project in Botswana) or to improve management (project PhytoSuisse) .
