[London] Panel discussion & reception at the Embassy

The Ambassador of Switzerland to the United Kingdom, Mr Markus Leitner, cordially invites you to a panel discussion and networking reception on the topic of Engineering Life: State of the Art and Ethical Challenges.

Advances in genetic engineering, chemistry and systems biology make it possible to monitor, control and improve the function of cells in plants, animals and humans. This creates opportunities to design molecular systems that can be of great benefit to health, environmental technologies or the chemical industry.

The “Engineering Life” panel discussion brings together scientists and ethics experts from the UK, Switzerland and the Vatican to discuss what is currently possible, what its consequences might be and how we can address the ethical challenges involved.
