During the course of the project, we have developed two research seminars for masters and advanced undergraduate students in the Department of History at the University of Lausanne.
“Républiques agraires et le spectre de la Révolution” (MA seminar, 2017-18)
“Démocratie et Despotisme en Amérique, 1776-1840” (BA seminar, 2019-20)
The seminars have provided an ideal setting in which to delve into a wide range of the project’s themes, by developing presentations and discussing questions with bright, motivated students who were learning firsthand how to conduct independent historical research.
One result of the seminars is that the participants have begun to apply different techniques, digital and otherwise, to the organisation and visualisation of information. A sample can be found below.
