Radek Szymanski participated in an international doctoral summer school on the theme: Imagining republic. Political culture, emotions and communication networks (XVII-XIX centuries), held in Ascona. The event was organised by prof. Olivier Christin (UNINE) and co-funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Szymanski gave a talk on the shifting meaning of ‘republic’ for Elie Bertrand and the Mniszech brothers between 1762 and 1768.
