We would like to invite you to DESI seminar by Dr. Julia Amann [Careum]

When & Where: 4 Dec 2023 (Mon) @ 12:00-13:00 [Internef 237]

Title: Trustworthy AI: Ethical considerations and practical realities

Abstract:
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to revolutionize almost every aspect of our lives, ensuring its ethical application becomes paramount. Despite its longstanding presence in many processes, applications, and activities of daily living, AI’s prevalence has often escaped the attention of the public eye. This has radically changed with the introduction of accessible, user-facing technologies that enable the interaction with AI at the click of a button.

This talk seeks to illustrate the multifaceted dimensions of trustworthy AI with a particular focus on its implications for healthcare and education. It explores ethical challenges, such as bias & fairness, accountability, and explainability, alongside strategies to tackle these challenges. A particular emphasis will be on the role of stakeholder engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and education to foster the development and adoption of trustworthy AI.
