Agile Transformation Canvas

« Agile continues to be top of mind for many enterprises, and with good reason »

16th Annual State of Agile Report (2022)

Because agile is particularly useful to deal with today’s volatile and unpredictable environment, and allows one to adapt whilst striving for a more sustainable future, it has piqued the interest of the larger part of the organisation. Whilst agile was originally popular for software development, business units of the organisation such as HR or marketing are now gravitating towards it . This is what we term an agile transformation. Such a transformation often comes up agains the organisation’s current culture. Therefore, when conducting an agile transformation, the organisational culture should be taken into account, and if necessary, adapted to attain an agile culture. Adapting a culture is however difficult and we can consider it being a wicked problem.

Wicked problems can be tackled with visual and collaborative tools. Because of that, we are developing a canvas to help organisations in their agile transformation from a culture perspective. We have termed the canvas the Agile Transformation Canvas (ATC).

The Development of the ATC

We are developing the ATC in collaboration with agile experts, future users and organisations.
To do so, we are co-designing with agile practitioners and are continuously confronting our research by presenting it to both scientific and practitioner communities.

It development is scientifically documented in Researchgate.
